What Is A Culinary Nutrition Expert?

You've found someone special if they're carrying the Certified Culinary Nutrition Expert title (CNE).

In order to carry this title, the expert has successfully completed an intensive training under the guidance, coaching, and teaching of Meghan Telpner. Check out a few past CNE students here.

A Certified Culinary Nutrition Expert has completed an intensive 200 hour training program.

This includes over 70 hours of in class training and 75 hours of practice in menu planning, recipe development and practice teaching, in addition to co-op hours and participation in local food related events.

Culinary Nutrition Expertise Includes:

Thorough understanding of the impact food choices have on health and specific health conditions.
Development of meal plans in accordance with various dietary restrictions.
Recipe modification and testing.
Recipe development and testing.
Client simulation: following a prescribed meal plan for 3-7 days
Ingredient Exploration Tasks: Selection of specific healing ingredients, experimenting with a variety of applications, creating recipes that exploit health promoting benefits.
Hosting cooking class /workshop.
Knowledge and experience in local food community.
Study and development of food philosophy.
