Where did I find this?: I always thought essential oils meant smelling like patchouli and rocking some serious dreads. When I discovered the amazing deliciousness that is Living Libations oil while attending one of David Wolfe's events at Ron and Nadine's property in Haliburton, I knew I could never go back to using any others.
Why I Love It: For one, essential oils are amazing for their anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties- which means they make the BEST cleaning partners around. Use peppermint oil to perk up your natural dish detergent or add lavender oil into your laundry. I use lavender in my bath and on my pillow, and cover myself in it before yoga. Mix peppermint with coconut oil for a sweet shoulder massage. Secondly, these oils are food grade- meaning you can safely (and deliciously consume them). Tangerine makes an excellent addition to your bubbly water or add a drop or two of Lemongrass oil to your superfood broth.
Why You Will Love It: Where do I start! Own a skin brush? Add a few drops of your favourite oil scent and brush- or add a drop into your coconut oil for a sweet-scented moisturizer. Got a sleep masks? Lavender oil is the best, best addition for a perfect night's sleep in pitch darkness. Or, simply add a drop or two behind your ears for the best toxic-free scent around.
Why You Need It: You know all those "natural flavours" and "natural fragrances" you find in your food, beauty care and cleaning products? Yeah- not so natural. In fact, they are the opposite of natural, they are often loaded with toxic, potentially carcinogenic ingredients. That is why we love our essential oils- not only can they naturally (and I mean really naturally) flavour our foods but also our laundry loads, our water, our coconut oil- all that jazz. Sweet.
