Extra Special Guest: Raw Chef Doug McNish

Do you know Chef Doug McNish? You must – and he's going to be teaching in Meghan's kitchen on Saturday November 3rd.

You MUST come and check him out live. His raw food is absolutely amazing and he'll be teaching all of us (Meghan will be a student for this one too) some of his amazing techniques and skills for making raw food that doesn't just taste amazing but looks so delicious. And you can of course pick up a copy of his book and have it signed.

We caught up with Doug in the Spring with some of our burning questions for him...

1. What is your fave breakfast?

I have two faves because I generally eat two breakfasts.  The first one is my post-workout green smoothie which generally is composed of almond milk, banana, cinnamon, hemp seedsGoji berries, berries, maca, kale and either mango or pineapple.  The next one is chia seed pudding: hemp milk, chia seeds, cacao powder and a touch of coconut sugar.

2. What daily ritual is non-negotiable for you?

Exercise of any kind.   If a day that passes without me raising my heart rate for at least 30 minutes I do not feel right.  I enjoy running outside and weight training.

3. What is one of the most pivotal decisions you have ever made?

I have two.  The decision to become vegan changed my life and helped mould who I am now.  I would not be where I am without living a healthy, cruelty free lifestyle.  The other is marrying the most amazing woman I have ever met, Candice.  Without her I would not be who I am.

4. If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring three things, what would they be and why?

Nutritional yeast, hemp seeds and miso.  These three ingredients are key in not only my cuisine but in eating healthy.  The yeast would help provide my b-12. Hemp would be protein and healthy fats and miso would make me soup daily as well as aid in digestion.

5. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

I would choose to be invisible.  This would allow me to get behind closed doors to see what is really going on in places like fast food test kitchens, factory farms and conventional agricultural fields.  I would be able to gather as much information as possible and bring it back to the masses.

Register now for his class- he is in high demand these days and this class will fill quick!
