From Scratch: 40 Recipes From Culinary Nutrition Experts

All of us in the kitchen and our recent graduates of the Certified Culinary Nutrition Expert program are thrilled to bring you the first ever From Scratch Cookbook, all in support of an amazing organization.

From September through to December 2013, we ran the Culinary Nutrition Expert program online with 100 students from 62 different cities in 7 countries.

At its core, the purpose of the program is to share the foundational importance of how what we eat (and the thoughts we think) can positively transform our health, the health of those around us and the health of the world. This is nutrition training for life!

We have a rare luxury that most people on the planet do not.  We are able to choose the food we use to fuel our cells and our lives.

The Culinary Nutrition Expert Program teaches our students how to not only create recipes, meal plans and understand the massive web of confusing health information out there, but we teach our students how to be the teachers.

Sharing this knowledge with others is vitally important and often, the best way to do that is through sharing the fruits of this knowledge -- the amazing food.

Several of our students generously donated their recipe creations as part of our first From Scratch cookbook, where we will be donating 100 per cent of proceeds to Organics 4 Orphans.

Organics 4 Orphans is a not-for-profit organization that works to educate communities in East Africa on how they can grow their own sustainable, organic food and the value of this food in staving off disease that has such a profound impact on their communities.

Organics 4 orphans

Extreme poverty can be eliminated in our lifetime. The best way to accomplish this, we feel, is through building the capacity of African communities to help themselves so they can care for the orphans in their midst. Our approach is multi-pronged; we're focusing on the four key goals of food security, nutritional training, disease prevention and income generation. Our strategies center on rural farming communities, because we believe Africa's future depends on its ability to transform agriculture.

How about sharing via Facebook? I don't use twitter at all. This is a phenomenal way to give back and I couldn't admire you and you're colleagues more than I do now. We need more people like you in this world. Also, how can I download using an IPad?
