What does it take to live a most awesome life?
Two years ago, my husband and I were chatting about the year ahead, and what we wanted to do- what our goals were- personally, professionally and together. And right there hatched a crazy idea. We were going to PreTire.
PreTiring was going to be tricky, but doable. We were going to go live abroad for four months, working as regular hours as we could, while taking full advantage of where we were, with the state of mind of pretirement- which is like retirement but when you're young and in great health. We choose to do two months in LA and two months in Bali. It was going to require all kinds of logistical arrangements, serious budgeting, planning for both the travel itself and how we'd keep our businesses going and loads more bits and bobs. Our goal was to maintain an attitude of gratitude every step of the way.
When we finally started telling our friends and family that these were our plans- the response we got from most people was along the lines of luck.
The thing is- it had absolutely nothing to do with our luck, and everything to do with clearing the clutter of thoughts that were preventing us from hopping out of the box and into living a life that we felt was awesome for us.
Making it happen- living an awesome life- isn't always easy. It requires us to stretch ourselves a little, dust off the thoughts we put on a top shelf because thinking them might cause disruption in our routines. Sometimes getting to The Awesome Life, is a bumpy road. But the reward? The reward shows up when you wake up in the morning excited for the day, and that feeling stays with you all day and into the night.
Living the awesome life gives you confidence that all of those dusty old thoughts, dreams, intentions, goals, and aspirations are completely possible. Awesome living, breeds more awesome living.
And in making my own dream happen, it built my confidence in helping others also live their version of the Awesome Life and that is exactly what hatched the plan for the 10-day Awesome Life Detox program.
