The BEST Bar in Town: UnCocktails Now Served

Summer is all about sweet loving, sunning, and funning. My hubbers-to-be and I try and go on dates a few nights a week during the summer, when our work load is lighter, and take advantage of the bicycle-date friendly weather and all the fun that goes along with living in a big city with tons to do.

The thing is- most often, our dates end up bringing us all the way to where we started. Dining out can be a challenge as we try to keep it clean and light, and though my man eats meat, he only eats organic. If I have wine it has to be organic/biodynamic so that I don't get the ridiculous sinus congestion that I get from regular wine. If we want snacks that bars often serve- like toasted almonds or olives- I have to do the whole "is there black pepper on that?" thing and they do the whole "only a little" thing.

So last weekend, J and I biked all over town- managing to catch the sunset along the way... That's me up there in the pink!

And after stopping at a few places to check their menus,  chatted with a few friends we bumped into, you know where we ended our hot date?

On our very own back patio where I put my brand shiny new Blendtec to the test by mixing up UnCocktails.

UnCocktails are cocktails that do some of the same but mostly the opposite of real cocktails. They DO make us happy, quench our thirst , taste amazing and bring on the free and easy of summer sipping. They also support our health and hydration, cleanse the liver, and make us feel awesome the next day.

We got to sit for as long as we wanted, listening to the music of our choice, and didn't have to inhale the stink of fellow patio smokers. Just us, and our drinks, our conversation, a warm summer's night and a perfect date.

Seems that things always taste better when made from scratch, at home, and with love. Now if there were a bar out there that served green juice, kombucha cocktails and loving elixirs, you know I'd be the first and would love to see you at the table next to me. I have enough jobs of my own- so hopefully one of you can help make that happen. We could call it Libations Of Love, or maybe Elixir Mixer... I'll work on the name.

If only. I think the perfect place for a natural food eatery to open up would be along the Lakeshore where the burger/pizza place currently is (near Windemere?). Fresh juices, smoothies, veggie wraps to support the active body. What are your thoughts on the Blendtech?

Than you so much for giving us another wonderful and healthy recipe. And, your day sounds like it was perfect, living in the moment and expressing your individuality in the real sense of the word – freedom. You mention a new Blendtec. How did you come to decide on the Blendtec versus Vitamix? I’ve wanted to purchase a high-speed blender for some time but cannot seem to decide on which one. Any help would be soooooooo appreciated.

Fabulous! I am looking forward to a cocktail evening. When you say "1 TBS prepared Irish Moss", do you mean in the form of gell or simply washed and soaked moss? Thanks!

My favourite date place is my backyard deck to enjoy some kombucha or kefir water drinks, and great company too
