Simple Tips for Easy Spring Cleansing

 

Springtime happens to be our favourite time of year for cleansing.

Certainly, the Fab Uplift Detox is a super way to jump start your way to lighter, prettier, happier, vibrant living.  And to get you thinking, and hopefully doing, here area few easy things you can take on right now and spring time is the absolute perfect time to get your cleanse on.

This is the time to shed the junk from the winter trunk, and get some green power in, break some habits and kick start your own internal UnDiet revolution.

Here are a few simple tips I want you to try on for size to maybe get a taste of what cleansing might do for you.

1. Keep on sipping, and you'll keep on lightening your load.

Hydration is key to protecting your insides from the effects of life. Fluids will keep the ickies cleansing out, the cells happy, the muscles mobile, the brain functioning… And it doesn’t have to be just water. It definitely should not be fluorescent coloured, sugar filled, plastic bottled drinks loaded down with sugar and salt. We need to keep hydrated to keep our metabolism running, our poop pooping and our blood flowing free and easy. Drink that water, drink it down!

2. Take five minutes to sit in silence, and notice (without judgment)the nonsense that spins in your brain.

When was the last time you actively did nothing? No music, no TV, no nothing. Sit and be quiet with your thoughts for five minutes. Start to notice the tape recorder we play in our minds, decide whether those thoughts are helping you or hindering you. Once you bring awareness to them, you can start to change them. And when you can change your thoughts and start believe all the positive ones, it all gets a little sweeter. What does meditation feel like? This!

3. Rinse, slice and properly store you veggies when you come home from the store, so you’ll be more inclined to eat them.

You only throw out the produce you bought because it rotted away in its bag deep in the heart of your vegetable drawer. If those vegetables were cut, cleaned and ready to eat. well, you would eat them. What about trying to shop only from your local farmer’s market or produce store for the week? See what happens if you leave the convenience packaged food at the store. You have to eat something- let it be fresh and alive!

4. Move gently while breathing deeply, and worry less.

Studies have shown that 20 minutes of gentle exercise combined with deep breathing such as walking and yoga will increase gaba production in the brain (slows that spinny brain thing), reduce cortisol levels (attributed to a multitude of chronic diseases), increase white blood cell production and circulation (boosting immune function) and increase lymphatic circulation (hello detox!).

Now, go for a gentle walk, while deep breathing to the store, pick up some fresh fruits and veggies, rinse slice and store, blend some of that into a smoothie to sip on and when you're done, just sit quiet for five minutes. How hard is that?

    Currently wallowing about the Tasman Sea, on a night shift, on a boat dreaming of the next time I can get my hands on a superdoooooper veg juice of some sort! I was also wanting to put my name down for the retreat but I cannot see where I will be at that time! You have so many tempting ideas for me, I just want to be at home Now! not whenever i get there, which at this moment in time there is still no confirmation..... Is thinking about it just a beneficial as doing it???
