Today is the day to look at the world upside down a little bit (and perhaps from there the kookyness might make sense). Today is the day we do that thing, make that thing, see that thing, say that thing and create that thing!
The mantra "Today is the Day" is both a line from my creed and our company mantra. When Me to We Style approached us about participating their community t-shirt series, it was an obvious choice that the shirts would not only state this mantra but be bright orange, too.
What does "Today is the Day" mean to you?
We asked you on Facebook and got some awesome responses.
- Carolyn Thompson-White: Seize the day. Do what makes you happy and do it with love. Don't wait for perfect circumstances to make it happen!
Nathalie Isaacs: It's really a labour of love for me. Everyday is the day I chose to learn, grow, and pave mine and my families way to good health, physically, mentally, and spiritually, so we can extend our lives and enjoy each others company and make wonderful memories together. Sappy I know but true
Cheryl Stubbs : Reminds me that today is a gift and that I should make the most of it. Squeeze all that I can from it so that at the end of the day I can look back and know that it was worth trading in.
Jill Mappin: To start eating better for my health...and tomorrow it would mean even better...and the day after even better....this journey is not linear, so for somebody like me it's important to come back to it even when I go off track.
Marianne Kay: It's always a good day to start over. Messing things up doesn't mean give up.
Emily Sadowski: 'Now' is (quite literally) the only time that ever exists.
Kelly Moore: No more procrastination. .full stop.
Sharon Patterson Stanley: for me it means get off the chair and make stuff happen....stop planning and start doing!
Corrina Barnett: Today is the day (for whatever) because tomorrow may not work out, be here, etc. Just do it, you won't regret it.
Savannah Liz Pantry: Today is the day to live under grace.
What does Today is the day mean to us?
Meghan: Today is the day is releasing fear, taking the leap, and doing something-- anything-- that is powerful, bold, brave, creative and giving that helps bring more awesome goodness into the world. This mantra makes me feel like anything is possible when we check the excuses at the door and just do something. Today is the day. Let's make it happen!
Jaclyn: Today is the Day reminds me that at this very moment, we have the power to be who we want to be and feel the way we want to feel. It’s so easy to say I’ll be happy when x or y or z happens, but the truth is that all we have is the here and now. Happiness isn’t about checking items off a to-do list – it’s about enjoying each moment, each breath, each day.
Maeve: Today is the Day is the ultimate reminder to be present. There is only today, as the past is finished and the future does not exist. It is a wonderful reminder to open my senses to the current world around me, and not get lost in "tunnel vision"- where I zone out of the present and only focus on something in the past I cannot change or worry about what is to come. When I am present, I am truly peaceful.
