Baked Apples

Ingredients

For 1 Apple

  • 1 apple
  • 1/2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup water

Filling (for 1 apple)

  • 2 Tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 2 Tbsp raisins
  • 2 Tbsp chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch nutmeg

For 6 Apples

  • 6 crisp red apples
  • 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup water

Filling (for 6 apples)

  • 3/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 3/4 cup raisins
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Core apples using a melon baller, leaving the bottom of apples intact so they hold the stuffing.
  3. Mix filling ingredients together and scoop into apples.
  4. Place apples in a baking dish with the lemon and water in the bottom of the dish.
  5. Bake uncovered for about 50–60 minutes, until apples are tender.
  6. Serve hot.
