I make a mess in the kitchen. It's half the fun in my opinion. My mom hates when I get cooking in her kitchen for this very reason.
I don't know how I do it, or why it happens. It always starts off in a rather civilized way but by the end- there is flour all over me, crushed nuts on the floor, apple sauce splayed across the counter, cupboard doors open, lidless jars littering every surface and random utensils laying about. You just got to get a little messy sometimes.
I get creative. I think of something and grab for it. Then, once I get cooking, I keep cooking. I cook up everything in site and I recommend this practice. Once the kitchen is a mess, why not just go to town. What you end up with is a disastrous kitchen, a sign of exceptionally passionate kitchen love making and a fridge full of goodness to eat up for the rest of the week. And let the clean up be part of the fun. Put on your own Love In the Kitchen Playlist and go at it.
The mess photographed here was snapped in the process of getting ready for my ladies tea party. Below was the final result of that wonderful delicious mess above. Tales and recipes from the soiree will follow in short and sweet time.
Now- step away from the computer and go make a little love in your kitchen.
