It’s always a great day when we pull out the big knives and show fresh produce who’s in charge. I make no excuses about my ways in the kitchen. If you have ever taken part in any of my on-demand online courses, you know that I slice, I dice, and things sometimes end up in the bowl and sometimes fly across the room. It’s part of my charm (or so I tell myself). I wish I could say that these shenanigans all happen safely, but then I would be telling you (and the tip of my left thumb and index finger) a tall tale.
Needless to say, I thought it was time to get schooled in some knife skills so that that my own kitchen creations (and yours) could be created safely, efficiently and beautifully. That is what proper knife skills will do for you. In today’s episode, owner of Belmonte Raw and dear friend of mine Carol Belmonte comes by the kitchen to demo her mad skills with the knife.
You’ll learn three different knife skills and when to use them. I also reveal my top tip for avoiding the crying eyes when it comes to onions.
