Culinary Nutrition Wisdom: 10 Inspiring Posts

The first week of May is always pretty special around here. It is the week I started my business. May 1st, 2008 was the day I sent my very first email announcing that I was open for business and ready to take registrants for my first ever cooking class. The response to that email was crickets. I’m talking total and absolute silence. I expected to hit send and watch registrations pour in (and by pour in, I thought I’d sell four or five of the six available spots).

And this was my first lesson in learning how to run a business. The biggest lesson: it’s never as easy as it looks and things never go as we plan!

The first week of May became doubly exciting in 2014. This was when we swung open the doors to the Academy of Culinary Nutrition. I had no idea at the time, but in effect, what I was doing was launching a full on second business. My school has its own support team, its own social media shenanigans and its own tribe of rockstar Culinary Nutrition Experts from around the world. It also has its own incredible blog, written largely by our community of graduates.

happy bday ACN

What is amazing to me is that just three years after launching the school, what I teach over there has only become more relevant. That means each year when we swing open the doors for registration, there are no crickets in sight! The demand continues to grow for this information. The world is literally starving for real food knowledge, applications, easy recipes and natural solutions to everyday health challenges. More so, we are also accepting that our lifestyle today – our food and living choices -will directly impact our health tomorrow.

And so in honour of Academy of Culinary Nutrition‘s birthday today, I want to share with you my top ten favourite posts and resources from the ACN blog. You can of course hop on over and dive in yourself too!
